"You can't do it unless you imagine it." -George Lucas
When I was a kid, all of the worlds mentioned above certainly found their place in my heart and they still inspire me today. I find that traveling into another person's imagination via a really good book is one of the most fascinating aspects of life. Perhaps I say this only because I haven't actually been very many places, then again, maybe even when I expand my travels I'll still feel this way...I don't know.
In any case, I'm in awe of writers who imagine new worlds and fill them with people whose lives come to have real meaning to the audience who reads about and relates to their struggles.
So, if you're a writer, please keep writing and creating! The worlds that begin in your imagination may eventually find their place in our hearts.
Also, I'm curious, do you have a favorite author (or screenwriter) who is excellent at world building?
